  • Constructor won`t work on XP

Posted on June 10th, 2009 servbit2 No comments

well constructor won`t work on win XP.
it only shows a black screen and then stops.
if anyone has an answer please tell me.

    Things to try:

    1. Go to www.acclaim.com/games/constructor and download the European Constructor patch.
    2. Install Constructor as usual.
    3. Unzip the European Constructor patch and now you just follow the steps that are in the file README.TXT.

NOTE: if you`re using MS XP, do not forget to run the compatibility mode for Win95 on the European Constructor Patch Setup.

  • Driving Game for Mac?

Posted on June 10th, 2009 servbit2 No comments

I want to set up a driving game for my G3 with steering wheel and foot pedals. What is the best software and who sells it online?

What kind of steering wheel and pedals do you have? I have a Thrustmaster T2 from way back when, which offers pretty basic function, but unfortunately doesn’t work with my favorite driving game - Carmageddon. Carmageddon is not exactly something you want children to be playing, and a demo is available online to get a taste for it. For “real” driving I’ve been pretty happy with my NASCAR 2 program - its really a racing simulator, and gets into the nitty gritty, but by today’s standards its pretty low resolution graphics. But it sure is cool being able to talk to the pit via microphone using voice recognition. There are few driving games out there for the mac. Racing Days R is another mac game (mac only, at that!) that was pretty fun, but more simplistic and still with rougher graphics than modern PC games. My recommendation? For reckless driving, Carmageddon, but may not work with steering wheel (has to translate into keypresses) - start with demo first. for serious simulation, NASCAR. For fun arcade -style, Racing Days R. Have fun, and drive safely! (except Carmageddon, of course). Oh, and online shopping: at shopper.com you’ll find NASCAR2, Carmageddon. Racing Days R, your best bet is directly from www.feral.co.uk - it seems they have a distributor in Iceland, but not US or Canada. If you’re dying to have it, I actually have it and don’t play it anymore.

  • Project IGI, savegame patch ??

Posted on June 10th, 2009 servbit2 No comments

    Hi guys,

A friend of mine bought Project IGI, but unfortunately he doesn’t has the ability to save during a level.
Is there a savegame-patch available. I did some lookup on the net but I couldn’t find anything.
Maybe you guys know where I can find this. Thanks alot in advance …

    The Mayor.

If you mean the first game - there is no save patch. You have to play without saving. IGI 2 has savegame functionality.

  • Direct3D Initialization Error D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE

Posted on June 10th, 2009 servbit2 No comments

Hi, thanks in advance for your help. I got a game yesterday and installed it on my computer, it worked fine. But the next day when I try to run it, I keep getting the following error: Direct3D Initialization Error D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE. Not sure what changed between those two run times, but I didn’t do anything specifically. I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction as to how I could resolve this. Thanks.

Did you change/upgrade the display/graphics drivers? If yes, revert back to the ones you were using before .. If no, then go to the venors site and update them … The error basically says that Direct 3D does not support the device

It is absolutely safe to download DirectX (the newest version is 9.0c).
    Get it here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=9226A611-62FE-4F61-ABA1-914185249413&displaylang=en

Then you just execute the setup, it will do a clean reinstall. If you want to make sure you can create a system restore point before installation, although I have never heard of a DirectX installation messing up Windows.
